Lightscape returns to the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria from 12th June – 2nd August Whether it’s your first visit to Lightscape or an annual tradition, this year’s show promises to be a magical experience for the whole family.

Every year, Melbourne’s award-winning and deeply immersive light experience transforms the Royal Botanic Gardens into an enthralling collection of exceptional Australian and First Peoples talent, with brand-new, sparkling illuminations to enjoy.
Take a stroll through glow-in-the-dark floral canopies and step into a landscape reimagined with creative lighting and immersive soundscapes. And while you’re meandering beneath the stars, why not sip on a mulled wine or hot chocolate? Delicious snacks are also available.

Please also note that tickets are timed according to 15-minute intervals from the first session each day. The last entry to the trail will be 10 minutes after the final timeslot is advertised.
Getting there
Royal Botanic Gardens is approximately two kilometres from Melbourne’s city centre. Melbourne Gardens is open every day of the year (including public holidays).
The entrance to Lightscape is via Observatory Gate near the Visitor Centre, Birdwood Avenue, opposite the Shrine of Remembrance.
Tram: Routes 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72
Stop: 19 – Shrine of Remembrance on St Kilda Rd. It’s a short walk from the tram stop to Observatory Gate.
Train: Anzac Station
Bus: Routes 605 and 246
